About the Artist

Mark is native of Cape Ann, a quaint seaside region on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Together, the historic fishing villages of Rockport and Gloucester form the scenic peninsula at the tip of Cape Ann.

Growing up and living in New England is inspirational. The eerie and fantastic coastal light – which starts at 4:30 in the morning during midsummer – has a dramatic affect on the landscapes and seascapes. New England is blessed with this superior atmospheric lighting, coupled with some of the most astonishing views anywhere.

From an early age, Mark showed a keen interest for the great outdoors, and ways to render it artistically. He follows this passion with, at times, reckless abandon. Whether battling 150-Fahrenheit heat to shoot a blazing bonfire, getting frostbite while photographing -20 wind chilled arctic sea-smoke, or balancing on the knife-edge of a 2000-foot mountain precipice, he never backs away from a chance to capture New England Views.
